Diy kids tool belt

Press the edges before hemming to create clean edges. From the leg scraps, create a large pocket for the front of the diy tool belt using the bottom of the legs as the top of the pocket. Press the edges and sew onto the frontside of the tool belt. Create a small strap from the excess fabric and sew the edges on the sides under the two pocket seams. Add an adjustable waistband.

Originally I wanted to use strapping and a plastic buckle however I quickly realized how easily our little guy might get his fingers pinched. Optional: Cover the strapping with a fabric sleeve. Place a piece of ribbon or scrap salvage down the middle of the strip, fold in half and pin. Push the strapping through the tube. Thanks for sharing! I just came across your blog today! Absolutely love it!!! What a talented gal you are!

Fold the top edge of the main belt piece toward the wrong side. Put your pocket piece on top of your main fabric piece. The pocket and main will both be right sides up! Baste around the sides and bottom, if you want. Match the folds at the top of the tool belt and the top of the bias tape. Pin all down the side. You will sew along the crease. Cut off the extra binding at the bottom. Now, flip the tool belt over to the wrong side.

Using the original accents of the apron really give the tool belt a clean look. And the heaviness of the fabric makes them perfect for play. Prepare to impress with very little work! Thanks for having me over today, Kim! I hope you all will stop by and visit me at The Scrap Shoppe soon!
