Conseiller :. Comment choisir sa liseuse? On vous guide dans le monde des liseuses ebook Quel format d'ebook choisir pour ma liseuse? E Ink, or digital ink often manufactured by the E Ink company , looks a lot like paper, and it's easy on your eyes when reading for long periods. On the least expensive models, it's not backlit, so you'll need light to see the text, just as you would with a printed book.

But most ebook readers now include edge lighting that lets you see in the dark. With each model, you can vary the intensity of the brightness from barely there to flashlight-bright. On the lowest settings, you can read in the dark while your partner sleeps peacefully next to you. In all cases, E Ink is much easier to read in bright sunlight, while color touch screens on tablets tend to wash out, and their glossy displays can show distracting reflections.

Most E Ink readers were 6 inches for many years, but the panel sizes are slowly growing. I've found that you start to have balance issues with one-handed reading when a model goes above 7 inches.

Screen resolutions and quality also vary. The lowest-priced Kindles use ppi displays that look rough and jaggy compared with the ppi displays on most other ebook readers. E Ink also keeps improving its screens' contrast and refresh rate. The new Carta technology, used in Amazon's latest Paperwhite and Kobo's Elipsa, Libra 2, and Sage, has noticeably faster page turns and a bit better contrast than even the previous ppi Carta displays.

If you haven't updated your ebook reader in many years, you'll be stunned at how much more responsive the latest E Ink readers are. Frequent, startling screen flashes are really a thing of the past; the screens flash much more subtly, much more quickly, and much less frequently.

If you need to read more than books, tablets with color screens offer a bevy of other benefits. Magazines and comic books look great on larger tablets. Even lower-cost tablets like the Amazon Fire 7 can browse the web, stream video from Netflix, Hulu, or other sources, play music, and run apps. Because of its high-quality screen and general power, though, we recommend the base-model iPad for most people trying to read rich, full-page color content.

Unfortunately, we can't recommend them yet; the screen technology is relatively dim, with low full-color resolution and occasional ghosting. LCD tablets are far superior. If you like to read in the bath, by the pool, or on the beach, you might want to consider buying a waterproof ebook reader. You have several options. The Kindle Oasis and the Kobos have page turn buttons so you can easily flip between pages when your hands are too wet to use a touch screen.

All ebook readers let you highlight or tag particular phrases for later reference. Some have digital pens that let you take notes directly on the screen. In general, they let you annotate on PDFs and sometimes other kinds of documents, and they let you take freehand notes on a blank page.

The Onyx Boox Note Air 2 is our favorite E Ink tablet for pen use because of its paper-like feel and strong document format support. It's also worth mentioning the Remarkable 2 tablet here. The Remarkable 2 is a dedicated digital note-taking tablet with a passionate following. Sometimes you'd rather listen than read.

Sometimes you'd like to read and listen at the same time. Kindles now have the ability to connect to Bluetooth headphones to play Audible audiobooks. Many Amazon books will synchronize with Audible audiobooks on Kindle ebook readers. Kobos have their own audiobook format. The library menu showcases all of the books you have purchased or have sideloaded. You can do things like add a bunch of titles to a new or existing collection. You can mark books as finished or delete them entirely from your e-reader.

Mixing up your viewing of your library is also something that can be configured. Sorting options include last read, title or author. You are primarily buying the Tolino Vision 6, because you want a modern e-reader with physical page turn buttons. People who have older versions of the Vision series, will notice a huge increase to the speed of navigation and turning the pages of ebooks.

There are a few ways that you can read ebooks, the first is choosing what bookstore you want to do business with. There are a myriad of options such as Thalia, Bucher. If you do business with Thalia, a new navigational entry will appear for the Skoobe. This is one of the most popular unlimited ebook subscription services in Europe. There is also an option to borrow ebooks from the publish library, such as Onleihe.

When you purchase books from one one of the online retailers, all purchases are stored in the Tolino Cloud. This is a free service. I find this useful, since you can delete books on your Vision 6 and not lose access to them, they can be redownloaded at anytime. All of your reading progression is also saved to the cloud, so you can pickup, exactly where you left off. When you open up an ebook you can tap the center of the screen and it will open up all of the reading settings.

You can access the table of contents in a hyperlink format, so you can quickly jump chapters, you can even do this sideloaded books. You can view all of your bookmarks and notes you have made and adjust the reading settings. There are also three options apiece for line spacing, alignment and margins. If you long press on a specific word you can make a highlight, add a note, look it up in one of the eight dictionaries or translate a word from one language to another.

There is a row of numbers on the top, which is useful for taking notes, but also entering WIFI passwords. If you are really into digital manga, I would recommend picking the Thalia Bookstore. The Manga is not optimized for Tolino devices, but we have found that they basically take up the entire screen, with very small boarders. The response time in page turns is really good, similar to reading EPUB ebooks. One of the downsides of the manga experience, is being unable to sideload in your own content.

I would not recommend loading in your own PDF files, since you will have to pinch and zoom a lot in order to read anything. Whenever you turn a page, none of your zoom settings are preserved, so you have to zoom in again. A 7-inch screen does not really give you a solid experience.

You basically need a This makes text look even sharper than ever before, but overall performance is really noticeable. I have reviewed every single Tolino e-reader, so I feel confident in saying, that if you want a Tolino to read ebooks, manga or comics, the Vision 6 is the clear choice. The Tolino Vision 6 on a hardware level is really well designed.
